Dr. Alexa Owens

Description

Dr. Alexa Owens is a board-certified family physician with a focus on lifestyle medicine. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Owens earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, and completed her family medicine residency at Bayfront Health Medical Group in St. Petersburg, Florida. While cheering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Owens witnessed many injuries on her team. This led her to pursue medical school, so that she could help others prevent injuries. Her interest grew into a greater focus on prevention over treatment, which is the foundation of her care. Dr. Owens resides in Tampa with her husband and young daughter. She enjoys going on walks and runs with their two dogs, a labradoodle and a Bernese mountain dog. She also likes to cook and to bake treats that are both delicious and nutritious.
